About me
Hi I’m Jon and I provide manual driving lessons in and around Chelmsford, Wickford, Rayleigh, South Woodham Ferrers and Basildon.
When I was learning to drive, I was very fortunate to have a good driving instructor. He taught me how to be safe, drive defensively and understanding the car itself. Thirteen years later I have covered many miles and I am grateful for the skills I gained when I learnt to drive.
I decided to become a Driving Instructor after 10 years as a Manufacturing Quality Inspector. I believe that the general standard of driving is very poor and I want to make a difference to the next generation of drivers. I want every one of my pupils to learn how to be a safe and confident driver, who will be able to deal with anything. It doesn’t matter if you are learning from scratch or if you are looking for someone to help brush up your skills, I am happy to help. I want to teach people how to drive, not just how to pass the test.
I trained and qualified with the LDC Driving School which promotes Client Centered Lessons. I became fully independent in August 2026 and now I run my own Driving School!
Lessons are always conducted respectfully, in an enjoyable and friendly manner. I want my car to be a safe space where effective learning takes place. I believe that learning is only effective if everyone is enjoying the lesson.
I have always enjoyed helping other people, believing that knowledge and experience is to be shared not hoarded. Work colleagues and friends have always found me to be helpful and clear to understand. When I said I wanted to be an instructor many people said they could easily see me being one. I also have infectious enthusiasm and nearly endless patience!
